NextHop's GateD Available On Wind
River Platform NE
NextHop Technologies Inc announced that its GateD routing source code is
available on the WIND RIVER PLATFORM for Network Equipment (Platform NE) from
Wind River Systems Inc, a worldwide market leader in embedded software and
services.
Adding GateD routing software to Platform NE meets the routing needs
required
to handle the exploding growth of information and data traveling on the
Internet for telecommunications and network equipment manufacturers in
multiple market segments, including Asia-Pacific OEMs/ODMs (original equipment
manufacturers/original designers and manufacturers), enterprise networks, SOHO
(small office/home office) and security appliances. Wind River's Platform NE
is the world's only embedded software platform optimized for the network
equipment market.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with Wind River to offer customers
this reliable, cost effective solution. NextHop continues to look for ways to
best help customers meet the critical routing requirements of next-generation
networks and we see this as a strong fit for a variety of market segments,"
states Dennis Tsu, vice president marketing and sales for NextHop.
Wind River's Platform NE pre-integrates world-class development tools, the
industry's most reliable real time operating system (RTOS), the most widely
deployed management protocols, the fastest routing stack, networking
protocols, reference hardware, and professional services into one integrated
package tailored to network equipment manufacturers. The result: network
equipment manufacturers reduce project risk, increase focus on product
differentiation, improve time to market, and reduce software integration and
testing effort.
"Integrating Wind River's Platform NE, the world's only embedded software
platform optimized for the network equipment market, with NextHop's proven and
reliable GateD 10.2 routing software offers network equipment manufacturers a
complete off-the-shelf networking software solution," states Graeme Harfman,
Platform NE product manager for Wind River Systems. "Network equipment
manufacturers reduce project risk, software integration and testing effort,
while increasing the focus on product differentiation and improving time to
market."
