Coyote Point Adds Dual Gb Ethernet Interface To Equalizer 7.0

Coyote Point Systems Inc, a price/performance leader in Internet Traffic Management, announced that the high-end model of Equalizer 7.0, a layer 7-enabled load balancing appliance, now ships with a dual gigabit ethernet interface.

The E450 model of Equalizer 7.0 is also newly endowed with a 1GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Capable of balancing the load for an unlimited number of 64-server clusters, the E450 can handle 4,000,000 simultaneous connections.

The ethernet E450 incorporates the layer 7 capabilities added to Equalizer this summer, which include cookie-based persistence, cookie stuffing, and URL load balancing. Those capabilities are also included in the intermediate-level E350, which balances an unlimited number of 16-server clusters at a recommended T3 bandwidth and handles up to 2,000,000 simultaneous connections.

Priced at $5,995 and $9,995 respectively, the E350 and E450 offer full-featured layer 7 load balancing at a fraction of the cost of other layer 7 ITM products. Plug-and-play setup and inclusive reporting features multiply the savings.

For sites with significant levels of SSL traffic, the E350 and E450 can be purchased with the XCEL SSL hardware acceleration module. XCEL is based on Netoctave's 2000 TPS SSL acceleration chip and allows the load balancer to quickly process thousands of transactions per second, without overload. Offloading the SSL encryption processing from the servers significantly increases their throughput capacity as well.
