Quest Software Provides Enterprise
Fixed Content
Quest Software Inc, a leading provider of application management solutions
and
active member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, announced that the Quest Vista
Plus Suite will leverage the Oracle Application Server 10g portal to deliver
enterprise fixed content to end users. To enable customers to view
application-generated production reports through the Oracle Application Server
Portal without the need for installed client applications, Vista Plus Suite
will leverage the fast and scalable Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) engine in
Oracle Application Server 10g.
The Vista Plus Suite is a leading enterprise information management system
that allows for quick and secure access to business-critical fixed content by
archiving and delivering electronic documents, reports and print output to
corporate and customer-facing portals via a Web interface. "Customers are
seeking efficient ways to manage and access the plethora of content generated
through multiple applications in their enterprise," said Thomas Kurian, senior
vice president of Oracle Application Server Development at Oracle. "The
combination of the Vista Plus suite and Oracle Application Server 10g
infrastructure will provide customers with a robust, end-to-end fixed content
delivery system."
Whether a document or report initiates from business suite applications or
a
legacy production application, the Vista Plus Suite enables users of Oracle
Application Server 10g Portal to be one-click away from essential content they
need to perform their jobs, including financial reports, customer statements
and invoices.
Users can easily access a personalized folder of reports and retrieve an
HTML
or PDF version. Vista Plus' page-at-a-time delivery ensures efficient use of
bandwidth even for the largest reports, and its page-level security
capabilities guarantee that users only see their authorized content.
Furthermore, as a J2EE-compliant Web application, the Vista Plus Suite will
leverage the grid computing features of Oracle Application Server 10g, reduce
infrastructure costs and ensure high availability and unmatched scalability.
The product also integrates with the pre-built services and functionality of
Oracle Application Server 10g, such as Single Sign-On, eliminating the need
for users to have different logins just to view their reports.
Pricing And Availability
The Vista Plus Suite consists of three components, an output manager,
electronic forms server and scalable central repository. The Vista Plus Suite
comes standard with Oracle9iAS support and is available now with pricing
