Gilian G-Server 2.5 Awarded Common
Criteria Certification
Gilian Technologies, a leading provider of Web application security
technology, announced its G-Server 2.5 has achieved Common Criteria
certification. The G-Server is the first and only Web server protection
product to meet the rigorous certification requirements. Common Criteria (CC)
is an internationally recognized ISO standard (ISO 15408) used by the U.S.
government and other organizations to assess security and assurance of
technology products.
Gilian's G-Server appliance secures applications on both the inbound and
the
outbound direction. By inspecting all incoming HTTP/S requests, the G-Server's
EntryControl detects a broad range of common vulnerabilities, both known and
unknown. It identifies the malformed request and blocks it before it reaches
the Web server.
On the outbound, the G-Server is based on patent-pending ExitControl
technology. Using digital signatures to verify the validity of the outbound
flow of information, the G-Server steps in and replaces any sabotaged or
corrupt material with the original.
The CC certification assures Gilian customers that the G-Server offers the
highest level of Web protection possible for combating website hacking and
protecting against application-level attacks, and for protecting corporate
applications from compromise.
"Gilian is committed to meeting the highest global security standards,"
said
Dr. Aviram Margalith, CEO of Gilian Technologies. "Common Criteria
certification provides an objective way to measure a vendor's security claims
and now makes the G-Server even more eligible for deployment in highly-
sensitive environments, such as local, state and federal government
organizations and financial enterprises."
