Security:
Enterasys Positioned In The
'Visionary' Quadrant By Gartner
Enterasys Networks Inc, a global provider of Business Driven Networks for
enterprise customers, announced that Gartner has positioned Enterasys in the
"Visionary" quadrant of the latest Magic Quadrant report for the Global Campus
LAN market.
"Enterasys has a long history developing and delivering 'secure networks'
that
embrace security as a core requirement in enterprise networks," said William
K. O'Brien, CEO of Enterasys Networks. "These security solutions are
particularly relevant given the recent spread of malicious viruses that
threaten the integrity of the network. Our solutions build secure networks,
helping customers prevent such threats, while delivering a lower total cost of
ownership and higher return on investment. We are very pleased to have Gartner
recognise the significant efforts of our research and development teams, as
well as our ability to execute against our strategy and enhance our position
in the market."
Enterasys is committed to helping enterprise customers achieve their goals
by
providing the industry's most innovative solutions and technologies, as
demonstrated by its recent launch of the Matrix N-Series switches and XSR-3000
and 4000 series of security routers. According to Gartner, "Visionaries in the
Magic Quadrant have a clear vision of market direction and are focused on
preparing for that, but they can still improve in terms of optimizing service
delivery."
The Enterasys vision is centered on its Business-Driven Networks strategy,
which enables enterprise customers to increase productivity, reduce costs,
protect intellectual capital, simplify administration and capitalize on new
business opportunities through best-of-breed networking solutions. Business-
Driven Networks focus on driving security, productivity and agility through
customer-focused solutions that align with business priorities, enabling
organizations to optimize business operations and conduct business more
efficiently and, ultimately, more profitably.
"The recent Blaster and Welchia worms, and the SoBig-F virus, are all
reasons
why Enterasys recommends a solutions-based approach to Secure Networks," said
Enterasys Networks President Mark Aslett. "A solutions-based approach enables
customers to build network systems in which security is pervasive. This is
opposed to 'point products' that are appended to an existing network. We
believe that our Secure Networks approach allows our customers to proactively
prevent and control various security threats to their network."
Another key component of the fulfillment of the Enterasys vision is the
Enterasys User Personalised Networking solution, a unique policy-based system
that enables resource allocation based on individual users and their roles, to
provide additional security, bandwidth management and access control.
