Breaking News - Operating Systems & Middleware:

Systinet Announces WASP Server For C++, 4.6

Systinet, a leading independent provider of Web services infrastructure software, has announced the general release of WASP Server for C++, 4.6, a Web services infrastructure platform that provides a complete solution for building and deploying Web services in C/C++ applications. WASP Server for C++, 4.6 is the only Web services solution for C/C++ that fully supports the latest SOAP 1.2 specification and asynchronous Web services. WASP Server for C++ offers the industry's best performance and security and has been optimized to interoperate seamlessly with Microsoft .NET and Java-based Web services solutions. WASP Server for C++ is available immediately for free development and test and for single CPU deployments on Systinet's Web site, www.systinet.com; beyond this pricing begins at $2,000 per CPU, with flexible pricing options for ISVs and large-scale deployments.

"WASP Server for C++, 4.6 makes it easier than ever for companies to create secure Web services applications that have proven interoperability with other implementations," said Charlie Ungashick, senior director of product marketing. "Systinet offers a Web services solution for both C/C++ and Java, making it is a very attractive offering for companies who need to Web services-enable enterprise applications built on a variety of platforms."

New and enhanced functionality in the 4.6 release include:

  • Unique support for SOAP 1.2: WASP Server for C++, 4.6 fully supports the latest SOAP 1.2 specification. The new specification has a clearer framework for extensibility, which makes interoperability between different Web services implementations much easier. SOAP 1.2 also defines a formal binding framework and XML infoset, which makes it easier to operate SOAP across different applications and environments.
  • Unique asynchronous Web services support: WASP Server for C++, 4.6 offers full support for client and server-side asynchronous Web services. WASP makes it especially easy to use asynchronous Web services via its WSDL compiler. A flag to the compiler will cause WASP to automatically generate the appropriate server-side skeletons and client-side stubs. This new functionality is especially useful with long-running processes, since the server is freed to accept other client requests.
  • New security functionality: WASP Server for C++, 4.6 features a comprehensive security framework that serves as the foundation of programmatic customization of security functionality and future support of additional security mechanisms.
  • Unique Dynamic Invocation Interface (DII): WASP Server for C++, 4.6 is the only Web services infrastructure to support both static and dynamic invocation. With dynamic invocation, an application is able to invoke a service that was not known prior to runtime: it can dynamically download the appropriate WSDL file, parse it, then construct all the elements required to use the service.

Systinet's WASP suite of products is a complete solution for building, deploying, securing and managing Web services. Systinet WASP Server for Java and WASP Server for C++ are industrial-strength Web services runtime environments that fully support industry standards, including SOAP 1.1, SOAP 1.2 and WSDL 1.1. WASP UDDI is a full-featured UDDI registry that allows businesses to standardize the way businesses organize, catalog, discover and reuse Web services across the company.
