Security:
Cyber-Security Experts Warn Of
Public/Private Vulnerability
Three of the nation's top experts on computer mainframe infrastructure
security will tell a gathering of more than 600 information security
professionals that America's information infrastructure is not only vulnerable
to attack but is ill prepared to prevent one.
"The administration has failed to begin implementation of its own strategy
to
secure our cyberspace," says Richard Clarke, well known cyber security expert
and Chairman of Good Harbor Consulting, LLC, a firm specializing in corporate
security risk management, information security technology, dealing with the
Federal Government on security and IT issues, and counter-terrorism.
Clarke, a former advisor on information security to three U.S. presidents
will
make the remarks at a keynote address to attendees of the Vanguard Enterprise
Security Expo on Tuesday, July 15th at 8 AM. His address will be followed by a
press conference featuring Clarke and other cyber-security experts.
"The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has a tremendous challenge ahead
of
it. The private sector must work with the government to meet this challenge,"
says Roger W. Cressey, former Chief of Staff to the President's Critical
Infrastructure Protection Board, also a participant in the upcoming meeting at
the JW Marriott at Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando.
At the conference, Vanguard Integrity Professionals CEO/CTO Ronn Bailey
will
announce the formation of a "best of breed" team of international technology
partners ready to step in where government has failed to perform.
"What the federal government can't or won't do, private enterprise must and
will do," says Mr. Bailey.
These partners will also be on hand at the conference, one of the top
annual
gatherings in the information security segment.
All of these remarks, and much, much more, will take place at the 17th
annual
Vanguard Enterprise Security Expo. This precedent-setting conference will be
unique in that Clarke, Cressey and John S. Tritak, former director of the U.S.
Government's Critical Infrastructure Assurance Board, will participate
together in a discussion of America's information infrastructure
vulnerability. Why did they leave government service, what are the
implications of them leaving, and what can be done to remedy this clear and
present danger to our American way of life?
Answers may be found at a press conference featuring all of the above and
more.
