THE MIND ELECTRIC RELEASES GLUE
VERSION 4.1
Two-year-old company The Mind Electric announced recently that it has
updated
its GLUE Java application server. GLUE has been put together for Java
developers who are working to utilize Java objects as Web services. This most
recent release is version 4.1, and it supports both Jave IDEs and additional
Web services specifications.
In order to better allow developers to use the tools they are most familiar
with in the construction of Web services, GLUE version 4.1 supports Borland's
JBuilder, IntelliJ's IDAE, as well as the Eclipse development
environments.
Version 4.1 also features a new real-time management console that is built
aroudn Macromedial's Flash engine, instead of the typical HTML. Also supported
are WS-Security and WS-routing, to help facilitate the creation of
service-oriented architectures.
Last month, the company released its Glue Web Services Fabric to beta,
under
the name GAIA. The release of GAIA is part of The Mind Electric's push for
the creation of service-oriented architectures. GAIA allows users to monitor
and manage all Web services regardless of the service's location in the
newtork.
Version 4.1 sells for $1,000 per developer seat and $2,000 for a runtime
license.
