VISION SOLUTIONS ANNOUNCES ORION
SOLUTIONS LAB
Vision Solutions, a leading managed availability solutions provider
announced
the ORION Solutions Lab which allows partners and customers hands-on testing
and training on ORION with the engineers and technologists who developed the
multi-platform solution.
The Lab, located at Vision headquarters in Irvine, Calif., is a complex
testing and training environment set up with many possible customer
configurations. It houses two large iSeries servers, each with its own
switchable disk tower. The servers are configured with multiple LPARs running
both OS/400 and Linux. Additionally, each iSeries server is connected to an
xSeries server via IXA cards, thereby providing integrated Windows high
availability. Six IBM iSeries work stations are running in the lab to test the
ORION Navigator's cross server management of Windows & Linux High Availability
Environments. Future plans include the introduction of certified, fully
integrated ISV partner applications to provide a more robust, customer-centric
test environment.
Several Vision partners have already spent a week in residence testing
ORION
in the lab. "The ORION Solutions Lab enabled us to train in a sophisticated,
clustered environment with switchable iASPs on a very detailed technical
level," said Bruno Fabien, Director Technique Business Unit Vision of Vision
partner ACMI. "Learning about ORION in this complex environment provided us
with invaluable experience and confidence as we introduce the solution to our
customer and prospect base."
