OMG Workshop: Distrib Obj Comp For Real-time & Embedded Sys
The Object Management Group (OMG) will hold its fourth annual Workshop on
Distributed Object Computing for Real-time and Embedded Systems from July 14
through 17, 2003 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA, USA.
Exclusively sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)
and PrismTech, this highly interactive workshop will include tutorials, case
studies and in-depth technology sessions, as well as a vendors' panel and
poster session.
The workshop will kick-off with a day of tutorials covering Real-time
CORBA,
the OMG Smart Transducers Specification, Software Communication Architecture
and more. On the remaining days of the workshop, attendees will hear from a
number of speakers who will share their experiences with Real-time and
Embedded Distributed Object Computing. Session topics are as follows:
- Model Based Development of Real-time Systems
- Domain Frameworks
- Fault Tolerance
- Deeply Embedded Systems
- Implementing Real-time CORBA Specifications
- High Assurance and Security
- Component Architectures
A Vendors' Panel and a Poster Session will also be held. During the
Vendor's
Panel moderated by OMG's Andrew Watson, vendors of Real-Time and Embedded
Systems implementations will briefly discuss topics including, their future
plans, and ideas on standards conformance and suggestions for future
standardization. A panel on Directions in Military Middleware is planned for
the second to last day of the workshop.
