Call For Presentations: MDA Implementers' Workshop

The Object Management Group (OMG) announces a call for presentations for its Model Driven Architecture (MDA) Implementers' Workshop in Burlingame, CA, USA, December 2-5, 2003. Building on momentum from the first MDA Implementers' Workshop held in May on the east coast, this second workshop will offer a similar program packed with informative sessions led by experts in IT development. Sponsored by Codagen and Kennedy Carter Ltd, the four-day program consists of tutorials that will provide an overview of the MDA approach. These tutorials will be followed by sessions and panels that describe industry experiences and practical issues related to MDA technologies and standards in addition to products and tools used in developing and deploying applications and systems.

The Workshop program committee seeks presentations on the following topics:

  • Platform-independent application models (PIMS) in vertical markets
  • Target Platforms and PSM; CORBA, EJB, .NET., Web Services
  • Model Transformations; approaches to retargeting, model compilation, consistency/traceability
  • Pervasive Services; directory, transactional and security services
  • MDA success stories
  • Products and Tools
  • MDA processes/methodology
  • MDA Standards; current state and future versions
  • Project Management; product certification, staff requirements, determining ROI

Interested individuals or organizations are invited to submit a brief abstract of the presentation or position paper they are proposing for a Workshop session, tutorial, or panel, along with proposed duration and a brief biography via email to mda-workshop@omg.org. Deadline for submissions is August 11, 2003. Abstracts should be no longer than one page and be sent in either HTML,PDF or ASCII text formats. The MDA Implementers' Workshop is open to all who are interested in learning about a model driven solution for designing software systems that accommodate an ever-changing world of technology choices.
