Breaking News - Storage:
Storigen Systems And EMC Extend
Storage Partnership
Storigen Systems, the provider of Distributed Storage Networks that
eliminate
geographic barriers to enterprise productivity, announced that EMC Corporation
has licensed and is selling Storigen's patent-pending Centera Application
Gateway (CAG). The gateway will provide organizations with the capability to
integrate their existing legacy fixed content management applications with EMC
Centera content addressed storage (CAS). EMC Centera is a software-driven
storage architecture specifically designed to address the unique information
storage requirements of fixed content.
"Centera CAS has quickly become the storage platform of choice for storing
and
managing fixed content," said Roy Sanford, EMC's Vice President of Content
Addressed Storage. "The Centera Application Gateway will help more
organizations harness their rapidly growing stores of fixed content."
The CAG is an easy and reliable way for companies to begin to realize the
benefits of content addressed storage in providing fast online access and
long-term retention of valuable fixed content that can range from a digital
medical image to a scanned insurance policy or a piece of digital media such
as a TV advertisement. The CAG is currently available from EMC.
"We're very pleased to secure a channel to one of the hottest markets in
the
storage industry -- content addressed storage -- with the company that
invented it," said Dennis Hoffman, CEO and Co-founder of Storigen Systems.
"Together, we'll accelerate the fantastic success EMC has seen to date with
Centera."
