JCentric Introduces Affordable VPS Hosting For Java

With the introduction of its VPS Linux hosting service, JCentric provides Java developers with the tools necessary to deploy applications and web sites using J2EE technologies such as Servlets, JSPs, and EJBs. Powered by Virtuozzo from SWsoft Inc, JCentric VPS behaves just like an isolated stand-alone physical Linux server and comes preinstalled with Tomcat 4, MySQL, and a range of open source Java tools and frameworks. The JBoss 3 application server and many other tools are configured to be installed with a simple two click install process from a control panel.

"We put together our VPS service with the needs of a Java developer in mind," said Clint Dalton, president of JCentric Corporation and a Java developer since 1997. "With a VPS, a developer has root access to a fully functional virtual Linux machine that has its own IP address, memory, and file system. The headache of getting a system 'just right' to run Java apps is gone with our VPS service. Each VPS comes with the latest JDK and is configured to run JBoss and Tomcat in private JVMs. We've included a lot of useful tools, frameworks, and libraries from the Jakarta Project and other open source organizations."

JCentric VPS hosting plans have introductory prices as low as $30.57 per month for a Professional account and $45.87 per month for a Business account. Regarding pricing, Dalton said, "We give developers a very affordable and feature rich alternative to expensive dedicated hosting and limited functionality shared hosting. Our slogan is 'hosting without limits' because we've tossed out the high prices, constraints, and limitations found with other solutions and we've replaced them with great prices and a tremendous amount of flexibility."

During the months of May and June, JCentric is offering a special of 15% off normal prices for the first six months of service.
