Breaking News - Operating Systems & Middleware:
Striva And IBM Partner To Extend DB2 Information Integrator
Striva Corporation, a leader in enterprise data integration and the developer
of the DETAIL data integration platform, and IBM announced at the 2003
International DB2 Users Group Conference and at the IBM Software Symposium
2003 that they are partnering to extend the new DB2 Information Integrator
software for integrated access to mainframe data sources.
Customers today are faced with the challenge of integrating information across
and beyond the enterprise in an effort to increase efficiencies and better
serve customers. IBM DB2 Information Integrator software helps customers solve
this pain point, enabling businesses to access, integrate and manage all types
of data in real-time, as if it were a single source, regardless of where the
data resides. DB2 Information Integrator software also provides customers with
a single, integrated view of data that is essential for business applications
such as real-time data analysis and customer service.
Striva's DETAIL is a data integration solution that delivers transparent
access to relational and non-relational data from multiple sources at very
high speed and with no programming. DETAIL extends DB2 Information
Integrator's reach to include native access to critical data sources such as
IBM IMS, VSAM, IDMS, Datacom and Adabas. DETAIL delivers this data to DB2
Information Integrator in accordance with the access needs of each connection,
whether that need is for bulk data, for changed data or for real-time data
feeds. DETAIL also provides transparent access to midrange data held on Unix,
Windows, iSeries, HP 3000 and ICL systems.
"With DETAIL and DB2 Information Integrator, a business can drive more value
from existing information assets with real-time information integration,
lowering the total cost of ownership and increasing return on investment,"
said Lauren Flaherty, vice president of marketing, IBM Data Management
Solutions. "IBM is committed to work with Business Partners like Striva to
take advantage of DB2 Information Integrator for customers."
"Integrating relational and non-relational data from different platforms and
databases for use in a single application has always been a complex, expensive
and painful challenge for IT organizations," said Paul Bach, president of
Striva Corporation. "Combining DETAIL with IBM DB2 Information Integrator
enables organizations of all kinds to give their critical applications
transparent access to diverse, distributed, and real-time data. Striva is
excited to partner with IBM on the introduction of DB2 Information Integrator
to the marketplace."
