SCO Ships SCO Linux Server 4.0 For The Itanium Family

The SCO Group (SCO), a leading provider of Linux and UNIX business software solutions, announced the release of SCO Linux Server 4.0 for the Itanium Processor Family, a high-performance Linux operating system designed for use with Intel Itanium 2-based systems.

SCO Linux Server 4.0 for the Itanium Processor Family is well suited for running demanding enterprise-level business applications, and emphasizes stability, security and worldwide support. SCO Linux Server 4.0 for the Itanium Processor Family provides features for customers using Itanium 2-based systems, including robust security auditing and management tools, scalability, and high availability and clustering. SCO Linux Server 4.0 for the Itanium Processor Family also includes twelve months of the SCO Linux Update Service. This service provides notification of updates and an easy-to-use interface for downloading and applying updates.

SCO Linux Server 4.0 for the Itanium Processor Family is based on UnitedLinux 1.0, the core standards-based Linux operating system co-developed to streamline Linux development and certification around the globe. SCO Linux Server 4.0 for the Itanium Processor Family includes the base UnitedLinux operating system and the additional software, support and services for successfully running Linux in a mission-critical business environment.
