Breaking News - Operating Systems & Middleware:

Confluent Software Strengthens Alliance With BEA

Confluent Software Inc., a leader in Web services monitoring and management software, announced an enhanced partnership with BEA Systems, Inc., the world's leading application infrastructure software company, to co-sell and market the Confluent CORE for BEA solution. Confluent is the first Web services management company to have this level of partnership with BEA.

Enterprise customers developing and deploying service oriented architectures (SOA) on the BEA platform can reduce the total lifecycle costs and complexities of building, managing and evolving enterprise-class Web services based applications. The Confluent and BEA relationship brings tangible value to existing and new customers that are deploying SOA in their enterprise environments -- including the optimization of software and information assets and the ability to consistently implement IT best practices and policies.

"Our partnership with Confluent underscores our commitment to providing customers with solutions for successful enterprise class SOA initiatives," said Scott Edgington, vice president and general manager, global software partners, BEA Systems. "Web services management platforms like Confluent CORE reduce the total life cycle cost for customers designing and developing Web service-based applications, while reducing the risks of deployment, making SOA compliant management a reality for enterprises now."

The agreement extends previous initiatives of both companies to drive down development costs and make new applications manageable out of the box. Both companies bring to the relationship the understanding that monitoring and management is a life cycle problem that begins with design and development of Web services applications. Confluent and BEA can provide developers access to the tools necessary to construct integration and interoperation during design time, rather than cobbling together such strategies later in the product lifecycle.

Under the agreement the companies will co-sell their respective products including the recently announced CORE for BEA solution that extends BEA WebLogic Workshop capabilities. CORE for BEA is designed to help developers easily build the management and security required for Web services into an application, thereby reducing the costs and risks of deploying distributed applications. Confluent CORE is the first Web services management product tightly integrated with BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1.

"The Confluent and BEA alliance gives our enterprise customers a solution today to implement service-oriented architecture for corporate wide business deployments," said Rajiv Gupta, founder and CEO of Confluent Software, Inc. "Working together, Confluent and BEA will help customers save money and time in the development, deployment, monitoring and management of Web services- based applications."
