PLATFORM EXHIBITS KEY GRID SOLUTIONS FOR LIFE SCIENCES

Grid technology leader Platform Computing announced its participation as conference speaker and exhibitor at Bio-ITWorld 2003 Conference & Expo at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, March 25 - 27, 2003. During the three-day conference, Platform experts will share their experience helping organizations reduce time-to-discovery and time-to-development for life-saving drugs and discoveries using Enterprise Grid technology.

  • Tuesday, March 25, 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. EST -- "Taking Life Sciences from the Cluster to the Grid." Chris Smith, Life Sciences Integration Architect, Platform, and Philip Werner, Vice President Product Management, Avaki will lead a workshop that explores the evolution from clusters to Grid computing in life sciences, illustrating how high-throughput and high-capability computing demands and data management considerations can be addressed through Grid computing.
  • Thursday, March 27, 2:15 p.m. - 2:55 p.m. EST -- "Grid-Enabled Life Sciences Research." Eric Broda, Vice President Services, Platform and Platform customer, William Hayes, Director, Text Mining, Informatics, AstraZeneca, will discuss a grid-enabled approach to transform an organization's computing infrastructure into a virtual computing backbone, optimizing the utilization of IT applications, resources and services on an enterprise scale.

In addition, as one of IBM's featured business partners and a key partner in IBM's Grid solution offering for Life Sciences, Platform executives will be available to answer questions in IBM's hospitality suite Room 302, Hynes Convention Center on Wednesday, March 26, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. EST.
