WORLD'S FASTEST NETWORK LAUNCHED TO CONNECT TERAGRID SITES: Fiber optic links between Los Angeles and Chicago have been "lit up" to form the cross-country network backbone for the National Science Foundation's $88 million TeraGrid project. The network is four times faster than existing research networks.

Axceleon's EnFuzion software utilizes the combined power of networked computers to significantly reduce application execution time.
HP INTRODUCES UTILITY PRICING FOR SUPERDOME SERVERS: HP announced another first in pay-per-use utility pricing by offering automated metering technology that can measure the percent utilization of each central processing unit (CPU) on HP Superdome servers.
UNIV OF TEXAS SELECTS FORCE10 NETWORKS FOR COMPUTING GRID: Force10 Networks, Inc. announced that the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin has selected the E-Series switch/router to provide a next-generation, inter-campus Grid computing infrastructure.
GRID COMPUTING WILL SUPPORT MUSICIANS: A Dutch Internet company has developed software to enables users to swap music files for free and produce revenue for the musicians, thereby cutting the traditional music industry out of the loop.

ECOLOGY-GRID CONTRIBUTES TO TAIWAN'S OUTDOORS: The recent completion of the first ecology-Grid system at the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute's (IFRI) Fushan Research Station in Ilan County makes it possible for Taiwan to contribute its ecological data to the international community.
GUIDED GOOGLE: A SEARCH ENGINE BUILT FROM GRID LABS: The Grid Computing and Distributed Systems (GRIDS) Laboratory in Australia has developed an "open source" meta-search engine, called Guided Google, using the Google Web Services.
