DivergeNet & ParTec ANNOUNCE GRID SOLUTION FOR EUROPE

Companies will co-develop and market MPI capabilities using InfiniBand technology.

DivergeNet Inc, a leading edge provider of total end-to-end InfiniBand connectivity solutions with its MeshLinkInfiniBand product line and ParTec AG, a leading provider of high-performance grid cluster computing software solutions and services, announced a strategic business alliance partnership establishing a development cooperation along with a sales and marketing agreement for the European market.

The two companies will cooperate on future initiatives in providing MPI computing solutions based on the InfiniBand interconnect technology.

DivergeNet will provide InfiniBand fabric components using a variety of MeshLink products including channel adapters, switches as well as proprietary SW integrated with ParTec's ParaStation MPI middleware. The companies also plan to collaborate on additional marketing programs for introducing European customers to the enhanced benefits of cluster computing using InfiniBand.

"DivergeNet, a complete solution provider for InfiniBand fabric networks, is impressed with ParTec's level of commitment in deploying the InfiniBand architecture," said Shari Nolan, CEO and founder of DivergeNet. "This alliance will open one of the largest markets where InfiniBand will provide enhanced capabilities and performance factors above and beyond existing legacy interconnects.

"With scheduled deliveries of products to European customers starting in April of 2003 we anticipate on reaching annual revenue rate in excess of $50 million at the end of the first year of operations.

"I am confident that the combination of DivergeNet's MeshLink products with ParTec's ParaStation application end users will enjoy a significant benefit from the overall increase in bandwidth, reduced latency and scalability as defined within the InfiniBand architecture. This inherent capability will demonstrate InfiniBand's superiority over existing cluster computing interconnect technologies."

"DivergeNet has surpassed our expectations by delivering the market's first commercially available InfiniBand solution. The proven performance of DivergeNet's InfiniBand technology combined with our ParaStation software, has presented us with highly favorable price performance ratios for bringing InfiniBand to the European and worldwide markets," said Hugo R. Falter, CEO and president of ParTec AG.

"We are very excited to add DivergeNet's innovative and breakthrough product line MeshLink to our product and service portfolio to provide our system integrators and VARs with a high performance and high bandwidth interconnect solutions for supercomputing systems."

"High performance and high availability clustering is presenting exciting opportunities for InfiniBand in the marketplace," said Hans-J. Schmidt, senior vice president of worldwide marketing and America business operations.

"The low latency and high performance seen from ParTec's ParaStation software on DivergeNet's InfiniBand solution clearly demonstrates the potential performance and bandwidth improvement within high performance computing. The ability to deliver InfiniBand based turnkey cluster solutions combining ParTec's and DivergeNet's technology, further strengthens our position in the high performance cluster market."

DivergeNet's MeshLink product line will feature 4X channel adapters and switches along with a unique implementation of the InfiniBand verbs layer called IBIS (InfiniBand Interface Services) providing a publicly available API for a variety of OS platforms including Solaris, Linux and Windows.

ParTec's ParaStation product includes a highly optimized protocol stack providing applications, an MPI library for large packet sizes and is available for all widely used Linux distributions and kernel versions.
