Grid Network Support
Across Grids Conference To take Place In Spain Feb 13-14.
The Across Grids Conference will take place in Santiago de Compostela on
13-14 February 2003 and is organised by the European Crossgrid Project, USC,
UDC, and CESGA.
The objective of the Across Grids Conference is to bring together and to
support a collaboration of all people participating in European and other
Projects, researchers, developers, practitioners and potential users of grid
technologies.
This international meeting will cover:
- Overview of main European grid projects,
- Presentation of hot research problems in grid,
- Examples of grid applications,
- Grid infrastructure, middleware, quality of service and other tools,
- Other grid related topics
At the Conference, GridSystems will be showing demos of their multiplatform
product InnerGrid 2.0. InnerGrid is a set of several software applications
that collaborate together. At its core, a federation of one or more servers,
integrated with the company’s research or production applications, split data
and processes into small units, which are dynamically fed to intelligent
agents residing on all the machines that constitute the Grid.
The system takes advantage of each resource depending on its usage, and not
interfering with end users. When one of the computers in the Grid is not
available, its tasks are automatically reassigned.
Finally, the system collects the local output from all the units and
generates
the final global result. Furthermore, InnerGrid desktop portal allows the user
to see the Grid as a single entity, easy to manage and use. From a web
browser, a simple and convenient interface allows easy access and management
of all the resources, assigning priorities, creating groups of machines, users
and roles, establishing alerts at the end of tasks, following the evolution of
those tasks, post-processing the results and much more.
For users who wish to rapidly "gridify" their applications, GridStudio
allows
graphical generation of modules that can be instantly deployed in the Grid,
without any change in the binary applications themselves.
Finally, InnerGrid Connectors make possible to transparent and easily
access
grid technology from standard software solutions (for example, Microsoft Excel
for financial risk or any kind of spreadsheet solutions, or Alias Wavefront’s
Maya for rendering).
